What is SPIO®, what is input orthosis ?

SPIO® stands for Stabilizing Pressure Input 0rthosis and is the innovative orthotic newcomer. SPIO® is made from a Lycra-like blend material that has a unique multi-directional stretch to assist persons with stability and proprioceptive deficits. The extreme flexibility and the Rebound-Memory of SPIO® enhance movement and postural control in a more physiologic way than other conventional orthotic systems.

Since the beginning of the nineties Cheryl Allen in cooperation with Nancy Hylton and other therapists in the USA have developed a flexibel input orthotic system used for supporting functional movement control.

From this derived the patented "stabilizing pressure input-orthosis", known as SPIO® - orthotic system.

Benefit: High flexibility and Rebound-Memory of SPIO® enhance movement and postural control in a more physiologic way than other conventional orthotic systems.
